I have a '90 750 Sport. I gather that all 5 speed clutch packs from this era are the same.
Could someone give me order and orientation of assembly for plates?
I have a parts manual PDF that shows an order....but It looks like there are two different steel plates....and I believe one if not both are convex?
Anyway....if it might be easier to draw it and fax it to me...I would really appreciate the help.
I had a slipping clutch....I installed the new clutch pack in the correct order (I thought...though I had no instructions...and the shop manual stinks).
Now the clutch "grabs"..and chatters.
My fax number is 603 415 2489.
Thanks a MILLION.
Jeff

Re: Clutch Plates
generally a clutch has to disengage after a year and a half off my paso cause of allsorts of silly reasons try taking out one at a time till you get the right width. i have a pack i blew up and finally got it right through the m.o.t so ill get some new plates now i know the width. make sure the cut outs are 1/4 clocklike it balances the clutch ok.

Antti,
G.
so it`s the same as in Finland or the TÜV vehicle inspection in Germany (we have to go every 2 years only)The MOT scheme is primarily a road safety measure designed to ensure as far as possible that all cars, motorcycles and light goods vehicles more than 3 years old are properly maintained and;
at least once a year are examined at an authorised MOT test station to make sure that they comply with certain important requirements of the law
M.O.T. Stands for Ministry Of Transport

Re: Clutch Plates
ok, but main point wasnt that... There is huge number of allking shortened words, things, etc, so its sometimes horrible to think, what they maybe can mean.... Maybe time to make new topic to all such letter combinations in aplhabetical order, that everybody can understand.....
