mirror

Post by Shatten »

I read a thread where everyone was trying to order mirrors, but it kind of trailed off. Was anyone able to get mirrors? If so, does anyone have and extra set they can part with?

I am new of about 3 weeks so do not know of a mirror buy. I bought a new left side mirror for my '92 from www.moto-science.com in Los Angeles. He sells only Ducati mirrors (is on Ebay). Cost $110 plus $12 shipping. Made by FAG in Italy, not exactly the same as stock but very, very close. Non 907 owner would not know the difference. Had painted and looks great.

I dealt with this some way back direct with " F.A.R ", at the time they would not deal unless a specific number was purchased and you were a dealer.

This is the long thread all about it with photo's etc http://forums.ducatipaso.org/viewtopic. ... it=mirrors

What are you after as I have a couple available that may suit your purpose?

I won't be ordering more unless there is at least 25+ units required and as before I only want to make sure I don't lose any money in the process which was very nearly the case once I totted up paypal and bank charges and the silent few that changed their mind or ignored my follow up pm's at the end.:banghead:

I may also take a small deposit as cover also. My other problem is that the £ exchange is crap so they may be a bit more expensive than last time as well.

I need one red right side mirror for the 907ie. It's not a huge deal, just the housing is cracked along the bottom and I;d like to be able to replace it sometime. If you have more than that, I wouldn't be adverse to buying an additional set in red in case of future accidents.

If you have those, let me know and we'll work something out englishstiv. Thanks :)

Shatten,

the original mirrors are an easy fix. It`s just a glassfibre repair. I did repair several in the past, some broken in 2 or 3 pieces. Original mirros with cracks appear on ebay once in a while and mostly remain quite cheap. Reflectors/turn signal glasses can be found at your dealer or on ebay also. This is definetely the cheapest way to have original mirrors for use or as spares.

Dont do it, if You dont know, how to make fiberglass work and want to mention also, that resin make cancer to human body. Very hard chemicals... but if You know how and what to do, then its ok.. ok, i only wanted to warn these things... I have palyed with fiberglass, so i know how dangerous it is....

You're right, but if he doesn't work usually with the fiberglass wouldn't have too much problems.
It's enough to use some gloves to avoid all problems.
No matter, in the forum there are many topics about the fiberglass repairs.
It's not too hard, even for me who have some problems with the screwdriver, too...
Try!

Reasonably easy, as long as you have plenty of fresh air, chemical-proof gloves, particle mask, safety glasses/goggles ... all available at your local Ace or Tru-Value (hardware stores). Then the fun of finishing off with Bondo, sur-form files, sand paper, primer and paint. Then it's just a question of how you like to spend your time I guess :dunno: ;)

Lol. I appreciate it too guys. It's just a crack and 1 small missing chip along the bottom of the mirror casing. I could probably get away without using a glassfibre mat. I think I'd have to practice quite a bit before I tried though, or it'll end up looking worse than it does now :banghead:
