Has anyone added an oil cooler to a 907? would it be worth wild?

Re: oil cooler
I for one can't see the benefit of an oil cooler with a liquid cooled engine, especially if your running synthetic oil, but I'm not the pro either.

Re: oil cooler
All the modern water cooled bikes have one. If it didn't help I couldn't imagine them going to the expense of adding it.

Re: oil cooler
Maybe newer models have one due to much more power out fr engine?
Just guessing.

Re: oil cooler
My guess, too ... for example, my M S4R has about 50% more hp than the 907, and runs much higher coolant temps, like 225F in traffic. I don't think I ever saw more than 175F on the 907.

Re: oil cooler
I'd not trust too much on the temp gauge.
No matter, you'll see the oil coolers added to the liquid coolers only on the more powerful engines.
The 907's ones don't need it.

Re: oil cooler
to be sure you need one or not, bolt in a temp sensor somewhere and read the temp.
if the temp stay under let's say 90 degree Celsius in town traffic or traffic jam, you definitely don't need one.
when the readings come above 140 with synthetic oil you need an oil cooler.
but as mentioned above, we have no power and due to the liquid cooling temp stay low.
So, I think we don't need them on a 907.
