Hey guys,

My name is Rui Mamede, i'm 25 and i'm from Portugal.
My father has a 1987 Ducati Paso 750 in great condition, but since he's more of a fan of Triumphs, i'm hoping i can keep the Ducati for me :)

She is in need of a regulator/rectifier... I did some research here and i saw that you recommend the Electrex RR-51 for the 906. Is it compatible with the 750 as well?

I'll post some pictures of the bike as soon as she is running again :)

Thanks a lot,

Rui

of course, but (as for all the Pasos) you'll need to do a little modification on the wiring harness.
We are waiting for the pics.

Make sure to read the the 750FAQ at the top of the forum. It has that most common issues listed with solutions. There is also plenty on the electrical systems and how to improve them.

Why do you think it needs a regulator??

Basically because my mechanic says so :? I'm not much of an electronics dude and neither is my dad.

But when i plug the battery the bike is short-circuited (makes a spark) and the regulator gets REALLY hot. Also the bike is destroying the batteries i put in there, so i can't test properly if the regulator has a problem (check the voltages etc).

Will the bike run for 2-3 minutes before things get too hot so you can at least read the voltages?? Do you have a volt meter
