Ignition modules and oil?

Post by Crusher »

Please excuse my ignorance as im new 2 this sort of thing but have this kiwi I can do attitude, so like Zedder was chasing my tail on electrical problems think I got it solved, spark in both coils now but I decided 2 take the left side cover off fly wheel, ignition etc 2 check gap with the modules as I have the twin set up. I noticed 200-300mls of oil came out knowing that the gears behind fly wheel need lubrication and oviously more oil would come out if bike was lent over, so my question is  how can the ignition pickups work well if there is oil around or do I have a serious problem with a seal in some place.I also have done Johns wirring modification and dont have any fancy multimeters etc.So before I put cover back on I just wanted 2 check with this awesome forum that all is ok. And thanks 4 the info on the manifold Higgy the flatsides look so much better mounted the right way

Not much oil can stick to pickups w a 0,7mm gap and the flywheel spinning.
All seems normal. :)

Oil has no effect on hall effect(magnetic) pickups

Monster or Supersport they are the same. one just needs to make sure to get intakes from a 750 engine as the ones from a 900 are minimally longer.
