Well being skint and with not a lot of work around thanks to this depressing financial climate I have decided to spend a week doing up one of these motorbikes for the water hopefully to sell on at a small but urgently needed profit????? Fingers crossed it won't be a :banghead: moment of madness?

I have found a couple of useful forums and Yamaha have a very good site dedicated to these machines with a some useful owners manuals online etc.

Question is has anyone on here had or got one of these? Any useful hints or tips to look out for? It looks a fairly simple repaint and rebuild compared to my 907ie ( see another thread on this ).

The machine I am collecting (actually it's 2) is an early 500 model.
