Where are all the Ducati's?????

Post by Jaffa »

Well, after promising myself a trip to the land of Ducati, my fiance and I finally made it. Flew into Milan, took a trip to Como, headed over to Venice, then to Bologna, down to Florence and Tuscany, now in Sorrento.

Where are all the Ducatis??????

Have seen plenty of scooters, plenty of rice burners, even the odd Harley and Buell, but verrrrry few of this nations finest machinery.

Oh well, while I was at the factury on a tour, I managed to get a nice photo of an 1198s on the production line, raw and unadorned by its clothing.

Would like to post it in here but will have to wait till I get home to Oz.

All Ducatis are owned by the staff and are parked outside the front of the factory!

When we were in Bologna last October I had exactly the same experience. Lots of scooters and little zippy things, but no local hardware... Maybe the Italians know to steer clear of trouble. :D I hope you enjoyed the museum as much as I did (the factory was not working during my visit due to retooling :( )

Enjoy the rest of your trip and make sure you taste plenty of the local produce!

Where are all the Ducatis??????

At least all mine are in my garage... But after one week one, ST2, goes with me to Norway. I was last summer in Ukraine in too hot climate, about +42C, so i decide that next summer i have to be in some colder place to keep my mind more clear, so i decided Norway and rain for this summer journey... I have changed just new tires to ST2 and only packaging is waiting. Start 10.7. saturday morning... This time 3 weeks and about 6000kms.... :smoke:

...And happy summertime to everyone with they Paso's

If you're lucky you'll have snow in Norway Antti!

In the 80's I did a fantastic tour in Norway on the bike in August. Fair bit of rain, some sunny days and in the Jotunheimen (mountains) there was plenty of snow! Great tour though, and spectacular country. I can still remember riding through a curve in a tunnel and thinking "this bend is going on forever...", turns out those whacky Norwegians drilled a corkscrew tunnel from the top of a cliff to the bottom!

We're freezing our b*lls off here in Canberra at the moment and I can't wait for Summer. 42 degrees? Yes please.

Have a great trip!
