Well, my motor is pretty beat "Knocks preety good ,especially at low RPM'S and get's stuck between gears other than that it still runs good. Just in case something does happen I want to see what my options are, I can do the the belts and valve maintenance but a full rebuild will cost me to much. But if the performance of the swap doesnt justafy then Ill get the motor rebuilt :ugh:

Did they put it into a 750 Paso??? I've tossed around the idea of building a 907 from Hell a few times... and I'm pretty sure my buddy has a spare 916 engine sitting around... :funny:
Hallo,
I have a M900 '95 engine running in my Paso 750 frame, with a pair of Mikuni BDST38 and K&N air filters.
Well... it works but with some little problems: since Paso mounts 160/60 R16 tyres while Monster uses 170/60 R17, the sprocket is not aligned with the crown and the chain works bad.
It maybe a minor problem for most, but for me it causes a bad accident when the crown decided it was all too much and detached from the wheel, breaking the chain at 140 Km/h....
It happened on August 2002, during a "hard ride" in val trebbia... (I posted a message about it on the previous version of ducatipaso.org forum)
The crown bolts broke and the crown detached from the wheel, then the chain broke itself and crushed into the engine, causing everything to mess up.
Here is a picture about the damage...
I contacted some local Ducati service, buth they all refused to repair the damage (at least at a reasonable cost) because the repair cost would have been much more than the value of the Paso... then it started my adventure as a mechanic on my Duke!
It was an hard work, but now the bike is (almost) on the road.

The accident happened with the M900 engine already mounted, probably because of the bad sprocket-crown aligment. Finally I decided to keep the same engine, revised and soldered!
