WOW ... yeah, what Mike said. Sheesh. Well ... that's assuming somebody really buys it, but you never know. Somebody might see that there only 2300 +/- in existence and think it's worth it. That's the fantastic thing about ebay ... it's not how much an item might really be worth; it's all about how much an item is worth to the people having the bid war over it.
That said, I'm now going to go peruse my basement for whatever cast-off I can find to ebay in hopes some sucka will bid on it ...
Maybe I'll find a grilled-cheese sammich w/ the face of somebody important etched in it or something :screwy:

Just because you're not dead doesn't necessarily mean you're living, either.

and i sold the 650 cagiva for 1750 with only 9k on it. i'm sure it made him a good bike.
boxerworks told us of a ebay item that was a real hoot. 10 year old red wing sh-t kicking work boots! reading the ad and the questions was real humor.
for the price of the indiana a guy.or girl, could get a more mainstream bike. i didn't know it was worth that much.

Re: Indiana
I know this is a very old thread but I own a very rare 1987 Indiana Police still in showroom condition with only 900km's on the clock.
I beleive it is maybe one of the last ones in existence. I love the old bike, but i rarely ride it as i own several bikes which are much more practical for riding.

McTool,
I know someone that has an Indiana, great condition, but still odd. If you want to relive your XV days it could be for sale. It actually goes pretty well.
Cheers,
Fraser.

When I was about 10 years old my grandmother made me carry her hand bag round Christchurch, even at that age i realised that there are some things in life you should not ever be seen doing. Getting caught wanking would be one ( that never happened to me
)and being seen on that bike would be another

Re: Indiana
Uuuugh ,I geuss its all relative, I mean , I like motorbikes , and their spin- offs ( like the Can-am spyder , and those old morgans, harley trikes etc ) and that probly means all motorbikes . Some are definately more attractive and/or desirable than others , but , initally they are all interesting. The Indiana, tbh I couldnt actually tell you what I don't like about it , other than ....well Ducati to me are a SPORTS bike maker and this thing is not a sports bike so immediatly everything about it differs from my initial expectations when I hear " DUCATI indiana ", but it does look like a Guzzi California and I like ( sort of ) them. Our Paso's were treated with similar distain when they were new , no trellis frame and all that bodywork.... not a proper Ducati
. So I spose it aint so bad, and that XV wernt either , just needed a lot more power , better brakes and handling and a bigger tank

Re: Indiana
I feel like I would want to have a ride on that before I made up my mind how it looks , which doesn't make any sense. Goes to show tho , that with a little imagination you can whittle a a decent looking bike out of just about any donor. That S40 could have morphed into a cafe racer too. I like cafe racers . I saw a late 70's kz400 cafe racer , real nice , and I would never have picked the original bike

Re: Indiana
The kits come from http://bluecollarbobbers.com/web/
They are all bolt on kits for the most part. Some cutting required
This guy put one together for his 17 year old son,he had a Monster. Said it was low light and a blast to ride.
300lbs and very tractable power. It was so much fun he has found the monster spends a lot more time in the garage
