1990 907 Thermostat

Post by Big Red Paso »

Howdy,
I'm looking for a thermostat for the Paso but having no joy finding one.
I read on one of the posts that a swap with an Aprilla RSVR Mille Tuono is an option?
For what year of the Aprilla will this swap work?

Cheers
Roy

The year won't make any difference. They are the same thermostat as the 851 and 888 but these are just as hard to find now, although it's worth asking your dealer. I picked an unused one up of ebay for £7 earlier this year. :)
Those fitted to the 748/9xx series and the ST2/3/4, etc. look similar but the side outlet is on the opposite side! If you could uncrip the end and turn the right angled elbow through 90 degrees it would fit perfectly but I doubt if you would ever managed to seal it again :(

a Marley clamp of the correct size would seal it up

possibly even the shrink to fit clamps

There's no problem so bad that a little fixing can't make it worse! : )

No, I just had a look at it. The elbow and the side outlet are part of the same moulding so they're relative positions are fixed :(

Bigred, I'm thinking try running without a thermostat? I'll bet you won't hurt a thing, at the most it'll run cold and rich, gas mileage will suffer.
I would try taking the old one to a auto parts store, maybe you could find one to match? They are not expensive, worth a try.
