Wow, that looks great. I guess I need to do the same. Especially since I am cutting off a bunch of stuff.

I'll polish up the bits that need it then paint the valve covers.Any idea what paint matches the original valve cover?.I should have tried to match it before I stripped the old paint off I s'pose

Re: 750 Sport restoration project
Looks good , some valve covers are a sort of mustard colour .... which I don't care for ...... just paint em silver .or light grey and leave the cap screws black . I like contrast ( I think ) , if the cases are black then the screws, bolt heads , cap screws .. whatever , should be silver / grey , zinc plated is fine till they rust. I also like to sand/file the edges of the fins

although this aint a great example ...... had trouble keeping the paint sticking

What year is the Guzzi? That's one of the few I want to add to my collection. Wire wheels and disc brakes, big Dellortos hanging in the breeze, fenders that you can recognize as fenders.
Now, back to the Sport Restoration.
What engine paint did you end up using? There was lots of discussion as to best engine paints. Getting ready to do mine.
Cheers, Phil

Re: 750 Sport restoration project
G'day Phil,
I used VHT Barrel Paint. It was recomended to me by a friend who has painted many engines. It went on easy and all 3 coats can be put on with a 10 minute break between coats. It came out much better than I expected.
Cheers

Re: 750 Sport restoration project
Apologies for adding to the thread creep...
Here's what I've been putting together for the past few years. Exhaust headers and brake lines added since the pic was taken. Might have it finished before the rainy season.
