Starting at the two terminals on the stator I have a yellow wire on each, there they going to the regulator, have to look back at old pics to see which goes to which of 6 pins there

It seems someone changed the stator in the past. According to the wiring diagram (in the FAQs) the wires should be brown and black. Later Ducatis had two yellow wires.
The connections on the regulator/rectifier are pins 1 and 2.
If you have two yellow and one red it's the stator of the 750 Sport or Paso. If connected to your regulator (or an aftermarket unit) the red wire is (often) not used. I.e. see the installation instructions of the Electrex/Electrosport regulators https://app.box.com/s/r16ixjegwfl7aq3ybd0c

Well, I haven't done a damn thing to the 89 for a while, not much work so not buying parts, anyway got that bad I had to sell my 850 lemans 1 that I restored recently, a bloody sad day , funny thing is the guy that bought it had a 90 ss 900 years ago and was blown away as to how mine is looking on the bench, soon I will start to get some parts and close the engine back up and get serious with this again, start this thread going and be annoying you guys for more of your invaluable help, thanks

Oh no....that is sad  . I feel for you mate :,( . I love leman's and lust after a MK111. I'm selling a bike tomorrow too. It's only a fully set up for outback riding DR650 but I'm still sad to see it go.

Cheers

Andrew, the 3 are a nice bike, I restored one 20 odd year ago and it was sensational, so good luck with that one, but like I said for me it's a new era, with my 89, have a good one

Good attitude mate. I tend to get too attached to my bikes. Your 900 will be a ripper when it's done.

Ahhhh , a (mk) 1 .........I don't like the square cylinder/head finning on the later Guzzi's .... so a 1 would be a real rench .......honestly I might have dumped the SS and kept the Guzzi :)
Huh , about 50 old tractors ( and a 4wd with a salvage trailer ) have just rumbled past my driveway.... which , along with this post made me think of the Guzzi website " this old tractor ".
anyhow SS's are also captivating and I wouldn't mind the challenge of getting that weber to work right ( its called fitting FCR's :) ) and the early ones have their own appeal too . I look forward to the completion pix :) :)
I wish I was young again............Id be heaps smarter than last time

I will kit the Mikunis for now with a plan to fit FCR'S later, bit disappointed that I fitted a new hagon (basic) shock, so I would like to update to Wilburs or Ohlins or such at a later date as well, no point doing these until she's finished and put through its paces, cheers for now, enjoy

Ordered all the parts needed to put both cases back on , seals gaskets orings and both sight glasses, steines were reasonable prices overall, protwin in perth will fit a stainless sleeve to match the new original slave cylinder and then drill the cover some . I've stripped and recoated the alternator cover ready for bearing , sightglass and all , I also have resoldered new 4mm tinned copper wires to the stator , good to be moving forward again, just gotta be patient waiting on parts to turn up, having fun again
