906 Transplant

Post by Dougie »

Hello everyone.
I'm new to this forum. I have found lot's of information on this site without posting any questions, but it maybe time for a little help.
I have fitted a 906 engine in my 750 frame I'm now trying to mount the radiator, I can't find pictures of the radiator mounting brackets, there seems to be a lot of pictures in photo bucket that I can't view. Is there any way I can search or view these old photos?

Thanks Mark.

Hi Mark ( good Kiwi name that  ) , Photobucket recently decided to start charging for image storage , even for those who were free private users , so rather than pay the bastards most peeps just deleted their albums and as you can see anything hosted by PB is now no longer visible . Anyhow I can take some pix for you ( no more than 3 :D ) if you want . Have a real good think about where the back of the front wheel will be when the forks are fully compressed ..... and make sure there is room for a radiator there . I know that when fitting a 17" wheel to the 906 there is a clearance issue so clearly things are tight there . Possible to fit dual rads ?, Ah la mx bikes ( possibly even use mx bike rads ) and the P750 originally. What carbs do you have ( dare I ask )
Where are you ( geographically )?

Thanks Hamish. Some pictures would be greatly appreciated, I have 906 front sub frame I think brackets line up with that but conformation would be good.
I'm in Huntly. North island, (that will give you ammunition for a cheeky comment  )
There seems to be room for wheel clearance, may have more of an issue with the brake lines. I might have to reroute them. (I didn't think about dual radiators, I have 906 radiator & hoses now.)
I have put a kit in the old Weber, never had an issue with it in the past. (Don't no what all the fuss is about, regarding comments on this site. )

there's a 906 frame on ebay and there are numerous pictures. I've attached them.

Sweet. Thanks for that.
The brackets are higher up the frame than I was going to mount them.
