Hello Boyz,
I went out last sunday for a ride early morning at 06:30am and was surprised by the low efficiency of the light. At first, I even thought the lamp was out of order as the visibility was equivalent to the one you have after a hangover....
So I am trying an alternative and plugged a LED bulb for 20 €.
before with original lamp :
after installing the led (plug and play):
not promoting anything, but if you are interested, the led can be found on auxito.com
cheers,
Sergio

What is the bulb that we need for the 907ie? Which did you try? Any problems fitting it?Sergio Desmo wrote:Hello Boyz,

I bought some for the R1200S and had quite a bit of trouble making the low beam fit and be retained securely.....
Thanks,

Re: Led lights
I too upgraded to a LED headlight. Most H4 replacement's will fit if you rearrange some of the cabling behind the headlight to clear the heatsink. In Australia I bought a Thunder (see attachment). At 2000 Lumens it's like riding in daylight. A word of caution though. If you are running the original voltage regulator you are running more of an unbalanced charging system.
A balanced charging system is when the manufacturer designs lets say 25 amp charging system and the bike uses 20 to 22 amps of it to run the bike and charge the battery. The regulator only needs to get rid of 3 or so amps, so it is happy. Now if you take that same bike and run led headlights now your making the regulator get rid of lets say 10 amps, now its working hard and getting hot. Although it seems like your doing your bike a favour by thinking it's going to charge your battery better your actually slowly killing your regulator.
I'm running a genuine Shindengen SH847 (beware of fakes, there are many of them). Purchased from http://roadstercycle.com/

ps: You will probably have to aim the headlight lower to avoid blinding oncoming traffic. Easy enough done.
