Yeah and I see some guys add dampers to the 900 as well, I know the 850 lemans needed one, 34.7 mm forks wouldn't have helped and no standard fork brace, 38 mm marzochis was the mod there, I suppose if you're wringing the neck out of any bike a steering damper is a good thing

Re: Oil leaks 89 900 ss
I have the engine off to justin on Monday so things are starting to move again , although standing here looking at it and it just seems like I've gone back so far, the hose between the rear res and the rear master cylinder was sweating so that's all off but pretty keen again because I originally didn't see a engine rebuild and now she'll be all tickety boo, this will inspire me to pull my finger out and crack on with the painting

Were You able to fit the tank over these filters? Just about to get started on the same installation and have those air filters already so would be nice to use them.HIGHWAY89 wrote:

As far as filters go i havent really nailed that yet, im guessing they will have to be some type of unipro soft filters ,Justin says he can slightly modify the inlets if necessary but at this stage looking at the easy flexible fix, i cant open your attatchment to see your choice of filters, originally i had the mikuni conversion with foam unis which worke. The fcr's are very tight / close to lower part of battery box but do clear framework , in hindsight splits are a better option on this model.i hope that helps .

the soupcan k and n filters on page 25 here are not fitted up correctly, that would involve modifying the inlet tracts

also the soupcan k and n's will fit under tank just need to fit them correctly first
Re: Oil leaks 89 900 ss
I might just delete the battery box and relocate the battery. Also thought about splits, but hoping to avoid the extra cost. looking at the pictures those splits also look to sit quite high?HIGHWAY89 wrote:As far as filters go i havent really nailed that yet, im guessing they will have to be some type of unipro soft filters ,Justin says he can slightly modify the inlets if necessary but at this stage looking at the easy flexible fix, i cant open your attatchment to see your choice of filters, originally i had the mikuni conversion with foam unis which worke. dont forget even deleting the battery box , you still have the top cross tube limiting your filter options

Re: Oil leaks 89 900 ss
the split fcrs or delortos fit onto shorter inlet stubs giving more filter options
Re: Oil leaks 89 900 ss
Might relocate the crosstube alsoHIGHWAY89 wrote:dont forget even deleting the battery box , you still have the top cross tube limiting your filter options
