Paso "Competition Only" exhaust

Post by dewjantim »

I recently purchased a Paso Limited. Of course someone changed the exhaust so I sourced two left side silencers from Italy and one right side silencer from Road and
Race in Australia. All of them have the "Competition Only" stamp on them, no baffles, and the correct part numbers. But..... the right one is about six inches longer than the left mufflers. Did Ducati make two different sizes of these silencers with the same part numbers ???

How do you mean: they are longer?
Is the actual muffler longer or the pipe on the "intake" side?
What I mean is: the 851 strada (1988 version) had similar exhaust but a different length.
If you give the part numbers which are stamped in the mufflers and I can check them.

I've had a "Competition only" muffler for the Paso but it had the same length as the road legal version.

Two of the silencers I purchased were formerly on a 750 Sport. It looks as though they were cut in order to fit the Sport that has shorter mufflers. No problem though..... I have a 750 Sport also.
