Paso Fairing Fittings - Well Nuts

Post by murphus »

Does anybody know where I can get the correct well nuts to secure the side panels to the gas tank on my '88 Paso? They're smaller than currently available "standard" 6mm well nuts, which seem to come in at around 12.5 to 12.7mm; the fixing holes in the gas tank are approx. 10.5 to 11mm.

Any larger industrial supply company should have a wide range available

I can find 6mm well nuts no problem, but they're all made for a larger hole size and won't fit fixing points on the gas tank. At least the one I got will not compress enough to fit. It appears it needs to fit an 11mm hole, not a 12.5 as most of what I'm finding is specified for.

I found some 12mm well nuts at an outfit in Ohio. A little grease and they fit nicely.
