Hey Harry,
it seems to me that the poster on the wall of your garage was liked much more than your bike....
I think you have to show on your bike a turbo-intercooler and perhaps someone will do some compliment :funny: :funny: :funny:
Hey Gerard
since I also have a 907, I would want to know what you think about the fueling of 907.
Why do you consider useful the cut on airbox on a 907?
I only would mount a k&n or uni filter.
Ciao

The replacement K&N is supposed to need a greater flow of air and some cutting of the airbox cover is generally an easy way to achieve this... although a racing element holder is again the most effectway of allowing free flow of air...
I think in every case you are going to have to play it by ear...

yep, I have the same point of view. There`re different types of flat K&N filters. The normal one and a high one (racing type). For the last even K&N recommends to open the airbox. Probably not only to improve airflow but also because the gap between the filter element and the airbox lid becomes quite small (if it fits at all).
I wouldn`t chop of the whole cover though. If I remember correctly the rear part of the 907 airbox cover is a little bit higher than its front. So if you think to do this I`d say to cut out the flat section only. (maybe in a way you can close it again without too big efforts in case you shouldn`t be happy with it)
Unluckily I just can`t find a picture.
But I found this allthough from a carbed 900:
http://www.moto-one.com.au/performance/ ... irbox.html
the normal one (19mm high)
http://www.knfilters.com/search/product ... od=DU-0900
the high one (30mm)
http://www.knfilters.com/search/product ... od=DU-9098
the race filter (41mm, that was in my Paso when I bought it, but not road legal here in Germany)
http://www.knfilters.com/search/product ... od=33-2003
on most Ducs this last filter needs the box lid to be cut open to fit it

Francesco,
the reason that this modification makes sense on a 907ie/SS shows itself in the following pictures.
Compare where the 750 Paso airfilter is:
http://ducatipaso.org/albums/mikuni_con ... _compl.jpg
and where the one of a SS is (907ie is similar, but I couldn`t find any pictures)
http://cgi.ebay.de/AIRBOX-LUFTFILTERKAS ... dZViewItem
this one shows quite good why opening the lid will improve airflow
http://cgi.ebay.de/Luftfilterkasten-von ... dZViewItem
Taking the picture as example I personally would cut the lid leaving the sides and the rear part of the lid untouched. So the cutting edge would be at the higher part of the snorkels. Beware that`s nothing but my personal opinion :umm:

you mean the airbox ? Yes, sure it`not the same. I just wanted to show the position of the airfilter.
I`ve just taken a look at the 907ie workshop manual in the download section, page E4. Other than on the SS the airfiltercover on the 907ie is higher in the front as in the rear, but also here at least the front part can be opened.
Looking at the drawing it probably makes less sense to cut it open completely as a SS lid.

Yes, I mean airbox, they are totally different in SS and in 907.
And as You Gerhard know, there are many different variations of cutting/opening airbox lid... Totally open is not best, if looking torque curve. Best and easiest way is to take ONLY snorkels away! My 907IE friend tested that in dyno run...

Max don't worry,Max wrote:Harry,
When you are done with your Paso, can you resend that first picture and focus on the wall a little bit more ? I don't know, I have this problem with my eye sight and can not focus.
Thank you,
Max
Next weekend I'll have some nice sharp pics of the posters. They are rather old though!
But the most right one is from Tatjana Simic. A Dutch model, she is in het fourties now (like most of us, I think) and still a good looking woman. In fact she lives here in Amsterdam and is a friend of a grilfriend of my wife. So sometimes I see her in the Flesh.
A litlle short, but: Big Twins (Ducati style).

Smoking...... Sorry guys.. on Topic now..
