Hehe, all who doesn't know Koskenkorva, it's finnish vodka, our local and most traditional spirit...
And Antti, Yes, I finished that quarter and cleaned some other parts too...
btw. I already visited sauna but I like to drink beer there :)

Terve,

Beer in sauna is good; koskenkorva is too dangerous (or a replacement as koskenkorva is not available in NZ).

Thanks guys. Nothign definative either way which makes me think it's not a straight forward thing to do. just thought it might be given there is a plate on teh left that looks the same shape as the clutch slave on later bikes.

Why?????

- To try something different and make availability of more common components.
- Was told that the clutch actualtion of the later bikes was much better.
- Also a million different styles of vented covers and parts etc available for later bikes at what appears better prices.

engine I'm suggesting this for by the way is a 1989 900SS.

Fester,
I had a 906 and now I've a 907.
My 906 was a MY '89, so it had the right side clutch actuation.
I didn't feel any difference between the 906 and 907 clutch.
But, if you really want to try.....

1. If You really know, what You are doing, go for it !!!

2. I have seen, that with that older system not so much problems, as with newer system.

3: You can surely also open that older style right side cover without so big problems, but if U need CF covers, then You have to do modification. Its impossible to fit CF cover to that older system, cause piston/sylinder is in middle of that cover.

4. U are warned now, so IF, something goes wrong with that left cover, its very expensive for You, but surely can be done with very accurate measurements and machining....

5. I send "good luck" to Your modification and let us know, how U managed with it!

6. Btw, i wouldnt go for that modification, but everybody can do to they own bikes, whatever they want...

7. My 750 with older system have been worked much better, than newer system in my 907IE, what is MORE accurate for cleaning, rod bent, etc.. and allkind of shit! You can read clutch slave problems in very many Ducati forums from later system....

... btw, Koskenkorva is not so bad for healty, its natural spirit made from grain! ... and its traditional, like Ducati :funny: :funny: :funny: Btw, no headache after Koskenkorva in Sauna yesterday! That is sign, what is good to human body!

If that 800g was result then that was waste of time and money  If I was question of lightening bike first I changed lightweight gas tank, removed middle stand, thinking which parts of covers were needed...

But when I'm not expert with Pasos I'll keep lurking ;)

Hey Guys, Do You want lighten bike, or engine????? If Bike(Paso)wanted to lighten, there is not so much, what U can do, but if Pantah engine, then much more and that is more important (and wiser)... I think, from flywheel about 1Kg away with lathe and from clutch side (ANOTHER SIDE of EGINE to balance it) another 1Kg with putting STM 48 teeth aluminium basket with all needeed stuff.... Then U can feel difference!

How about the rest of 218 kilos?
Lightening engine makes it much untrustworthy and hard to adjust to work a way U want (believe me, I had one Mark 3 thousands of years ago)... U got Paso and it is the bike it is, major modifications might be done for outlook and painting and riding geometry (modding seat, footsteps and clip-ons and so on)... this is hard to say but this bike is so finally-thinked that it's modification possibilities are quite off..

Thats why i have lightened my weight about 5Kgs from 80 to 75 last 1,5 moths!!! More Koskenkorva=> less dinners with blonds... sometimes have to suffer little.... No need to lighten now 5kgs my Paso !!!!! Much more easier this way.... Btw, soon i am in good shape(to beach) to go to see some readheads to south (maybe to Egypt) in January... :funny: :funny: :funny:

Btw, "fox", i think, U cant do this? If U start lighten, then U dont have anymore power to keep Paso in twisty roads, like we did in summertime...

So, it's the only way to go faster with the Paso? No carbon fiber, fiberglass, titanium, ergal, aluminium, magnesium........
Tomorrow I also will start a diet.

Ok, i accept CF and magnesium, but rest must go out from human body. Have U Francesco any "spare energy" around Your stommach? How many kgs You can take away to compensate those Paso kgs??? :funny: :funny: :funny: I have lightened 5kgs already to compensate low Paso power...

Don't worry Antti, I'm always been the slowest of the group, also 30 kg. ago.
