Do you mean the 3 phase regulator of last Duck?

What you think about Electrex RR51?

Deka ETX16L

The one that says SVR is. Below SVR it says Absorbed Glass Mat Technology(AGM). I have the ETX15L as a replacement for theYBL14A2 (going from memory-I hope that is the right number) that came in the bike. It is in their SportsPower line of batteries, and is 190cca. I found mine at a Yamaha dealer. I'd say just call Deka to see if they can cross reference it for you and give you a local dealer.

rectifier/regulator

no, i mean the stock rectifier that ducati installed on the 907. this was the same rectifier ducati used on the early 900ss. these 900ss are also known for regulator/rectifier problems.

ducati realized this rectifier was subpar and discontinued its use. modern ducatis come w/ a much better rectifier and no longer have rectifier issues.

all of my 907 ducatis are equipped w/ stock rectifiers. i keep a couple of spares in my garage so i'm ready for the inevitable rectifier failure. my buddy got tired of rectifier problems w/ his '93 900ss and replaced the stock rectifier w/ an aftermarket rectifier. so far, he's had no problems.

The top voltage I found was about 15V and at idle was about 12,5 - 13V.

In the Electrex manual I read the top voltage was about 15,4V.

So, I thought all was OK.

Also, have I to check it when the bike is running?
No need to go "to street" with multimeter(i do so, cause i want to see, what is happening, when bike is running longer time, when battery SHOULD be charged AFTER STARTING, what takes plenty of juice from battery), but seems, that You have too high Voltage in battery poles in higher rpms. I think, that 15V is already too much to normal battery, It causes lost of water already in those voltages.... My Electrex in my 907 have NEVER give such high voltage, but surely its better stabilized unit, than normal original Ducati regulator... That Your IDLE voltage seems to be ok, but 15 V is too much, if we are thinking LIFETIME of battery and i am NOT wondering anymore, that You are loosing batteries... That voltage can be quite high just after starting, cause battery is little empty just after starting and regulator try to put plenty of current to battery. Regulator is thatkind equipment, that it runs all that current (from stator) to GROUND, what doesnt need for battery charging, so more U use lights, etc in Your bike, that helps regulator "feed to ground"/heating regulator/regulator life, etc...), BUT 907 have so "small stator", that If put some 55W dual hedlight WITHOUT switch(!!!!), it cant give anymore ENOUGH current to battery => "eating" current then from battery and sooner or later injection dont work anymore, like should.... I know this very well, cause that have happened to me with doubble lights....

Early ST2 (97,98) had plenty of these problems caused bad regulators and MOSTLY bad cooling around regulator and also one "special" (shit) connection cable between stator and regulator. That was still broblem in my sisters husbands 99 modell ST2... I fixed it also....

Can I just look for another 16 and hope it fits the battery tray
Stay in that original Ah value (16Ah). Its yours choise, what brand you buy, BUT remeber to check POLARITY of plus and minus poles, that they are in same side, as original battery have and surely right cable connection systems also in new battery, cause they made huge amount of 16Ah batteries, but conections must be, like original have! Many variations in those connections. Surely same sizes(dimensions), that there is enough space in battery box for that new battery!

I've seen on the Electrex website that they sell the RR51 for E. 85,00 VAT and shipping included.

A new stock one costs about E. 200,00 at the dealer

It seems to me a good bargain......

I picked up a Deka battery for my 907 at TSC. I don't remember the cost, but it seemed to me that it was fairly reasonable.

Yes, I don't keep the bike on a tender and try to ride it at least once a month, even in winter. Always starts right up.

Jon have maintained well his electrics, i can see..... "good connections"... That is MAIN point with Ducatis !

Btw, i think, that if drive just that one time/month over year, then no need battery charger. Its enough then to keep battery loaded...
