Somekind Dzus, but "for good price" surely... Maybe have to look some aero parts companies from Finland, what price they have.... They use those fasteners in many small airplanes... Pitty, that my father in law is already pensioner from Fin air force...

I know, those Dzus are such things, that if enough big ordering, then price can be much lower, so if there is enough of intrest, then i can ask prices. Anyway that big ordering means lot of work...

What would you need for the conversion on a 907 ?
I have a loda of Dzus plates and fasteneres here that I was planning to experiment with.
If we can work out the best way to do it between us I'll got to DZus direct or another supplier and try and get a "group buy price" if there's enough interest - I think we'd need at least 15 people to buy into the kits for it to work.

I havent asked from that Fin company, what are prices and what can be disscount for bigger ordering, but anyway if price is good, then i want to change both Pasos and surely my ST4S also to Dzus fasteners... If thinking taking fairings off/on, with those Dzus things it goes much faster.... ...and need to put new Wellnuts sometimes surely to Paso fairings They are not so good fasteners....

There "CAN" be also some problems with Dzus systems, cause seems, that, that "lower connection piece" under fairings have to put with screws,pop rivets, etc.., or similar to fairings and that can take too much space from that area and surely have to be very carefull, that dont make any bad scratches to fiberglass then... Those fasteners function well in race bikes, cause then its not very important to keep fairings in very good shape...

Anyway i am intrested very much, if price is good !!!!!

They cost $1.79/ea, plus shipping. No minimum order required. Shipping is very reasonable in the USA. I paid $1.86 to have 10 studs shipped USPS first class. The studs arrived w/in a week. I have no idea what international shipping would cost, but Dzus components are small and relatively lightweight, so shipping couldn't be that much. Of course, you Euro guys have VAT tax, so factor that into your customs declaration, if it applies.

The folks at Aircraft Spruce are very helpful. They can help you select the right fastener for the AJ5-60 Cad Oval Head Stud. Their toll free number, (USA only, sorry FinPaso and Persempre!), is:

....Seems, that U read some of my mail earlier, "how high coast is it to order parts from USA to EU market"... I have done that some times and result is allways very bad.... to my wallet after all tolls and taxes!

Btw, i know, that You can make there airplanes quite cheaply, so maybe also Dzus fasteners are there cheap.... :laugh:

You don't have to use the rivet on Backing but that is more secure.

You can also use the panel clip type I am looking at using a combination of both to do mine - I will work it out over the weekend and post up some diagrams of what I expect to use where

There is also an easy way to stop panel scratches - by using a .5mm - 1 mm Nylon or Rubber washer between the panels - this gives the same seperation that the normal Ducati Well nuts give and also makes the lock more positive on the Dzus fastener (due to the "pring" in the washer.

I have used allways those nylon washers with my original screws.

What I mean is actually to use 2 of them - one between the fastnere head and the panel and one between the two fairing panels being joined.
Fairings on the Paso invariably rub together in strange places so they way I figure a little bit of separation isn't such a bad thing

That have never happen to my bikes, so i use only one washer between screw and fairing(to protect painting)...

I was the guy that posted this topic in the beginning and I have taking all the information in. However, after checking the utter pain in the ass it would be to replace all the factory backings to be able to use the dzus I decided to find a complete set new ones. I would love the dzus but decided it wasn't worth the extra money and the fact that I might chance damaging body panels getting them modified.

I found a very helpful dealership parts guy in Greenville South Carolina that got me a new complete set with nylon washers for $145.00 US. Thanks guys and also is there any members close to south carolina?? I assume there are only a few US owners here

unfortunately,no duc dealers here at all so i am mostly web hunting for my parts........

will be at bike week in myrtle beach may 12 thru 18 with my 907!!
