Finnpaso wrote:Its just, like to put some powerfull engine to OLD Paso frame.... "Paso frame", like also in MHR had, fits to MHR engine and thats very nice combination, but never some 4 valve engine to Paso!
I don't think the Paso frame is so ugly.
I have always tought it might tolerate a more powerful engine.
I can well remember the drive feeling of my previous 96 hp Honda Hornet

. Really, she couldn't tolerate its own engine...
No matter, I also wouldn't make such transplant.

What about an upgrade with a Dynojet "power commander"?
they're easily programmable and fit good on the engine

But, is there a Power Commander for the Paso?
I didn't see any device for the Paso in their website.
Ciao.

What about fitting ST3 cylinders and pistons to the 907? A 944 cc engine is good for another 10 hp. I don't know if there is more involved in this, like head compatibility?

The ST2 cylinders and pistons can be fitted without problems, but I think the ST3 ones are much more hard to fit since you have also to change the heads...
But nothing is impossible!

Thanks Francesco, why aren't there more people doing big bore 907's with the ST2 cylinders? Are they expensive?

I don't think weren't many people with the big bore kit.
Antti (Finnpaso) has the engine very boosted and with the 944 kit, if I well remember.
Besides, a 944 kit was already sold many years ago.
I don't know the price of the whole kit, but I think the cost from the dealers might be very, very expensive.
I'm not too much interested in the high power, I only fitted a louder exhaust

!
So, when I found them, I bought on eBay a new stock cylinder/piston kit.
Really, they tell the best thing to enhance the power is to fit the ST2 camshaft.
Antti can tell much more about it.

I dont have 944 kit, but ST2 cams i have, ported head, tuned FIM chip, open air filter, open exhaust, light flywheel, light clutch,etc.... Not dynoed yet, so cant say exact numbers....
ST2 heads are easy to fit, if managed find such, but if have to buy from Ducati dealer, then it can be too high priced modification. I think ST3 sylinders and heads are too complicated to put to 907 engine, but i dont know details about it. 3 valve engine is strange to me.

No need, i can leave those far also with my 750 Paso.... But only in twisty roads, NOT in straight! Winter project will be Mikunis to my 750 Paso. Just now ST4S left cover off, something bad in starting system, cause feels, like battery drop down very fastly after some starts. Seems, that charging is ok, but something bad in start engine, free clutch, or starting relay. Battery is new and cables seems to be ok.

Allways with Ducatis, like this!   Also just bought Conti 2-1 system from Gert, so have to polish it(stainless steel) and clearcoat CF part and test in my 907IE....

I have also found a Conti 2-1 but it isn't in too much good shape.
The stainless steel part is like corroded by some acid. I have tried to polish it, but I'm been not able to make it better.
Really, I think it needs a chroming.
Sorry, but Conti has some CF part

?
No matter, it has a great sound, no great improvement in the performances but some trouble at the lower RPM.

Maybe that CF part is put later there, original should be polished aluminium. "Tamburinfan" should know history of his "old pipes"....
Those 2-1 systems have never function better, than 2-2 systems. And i think, that "collector part" is not so good, as in original. That part is very critical to low rpm torque(pulses back to sylinders). I think, best in these 2-1 systems are much lighter weight, especially Conti system, what is quite light(read "open".... Thats why i like them.... ) ... and sounds are marvelous!
Btw, whatkind of problem You know/have heard in low rpm? Little courious, cause i want to know, do i have to make other modifications with that 2-1 system, or no.

My yel Dukess has received both sound and performance improvement with my hand made muffler!
I had to do it by myself because mo aftermarket muffler might satisfy my requires!
It has a very wide diameter and a sort of labirinth to make the gas flow correctly!
Have a look at this:
INSIDE THE MUFFLER
and at this:
50mm OUT
Well, it doesn't look fine, but it's just a prototype!
It'll teke me some more time to build a brand new one!
