I'm running the Dellortos with K&N filter pods. Is there supposed to be a lot of intake noise with this setup?....I can heard the air being "gulped" into the carbs as the bike idles, and it's fairly loud.

My only experience is with Malossi equipment. I keep my filter sponges well oiled, and the intake noise when idling is hardly noticeable. I can sure hear the suction under acceleration, however.

Another thing to check with Del Ortos is that the choke piston system is sealing well, with plenty of slack in the choke cable, so that it's not influencing the mixture when not required.

Also, I have heard that Ducatis with two-into-one exhausts are not so easy to tune, although I can't see why that should be so different to the Paso's two-into-one-into two system. I have a mate with a late model tuned 750 Sport (fuel intected) with a two-into-one system which makes heaps of power and runs well.

The gulping noise wound up being a choke that was not closing conmpletely.

These carbs are finicky! I found that the intake had a lot of sweet sounding HONK when on the throttle. I had the same set up with the K&N's. I liked the sound.
