I'm having some service work done on my '88 750, including tires, and my friendly neighborhood dealer managed to scare up some new Michelins. Not sure yet how and where he got them, nor am I certain of the cost, but the good news is, they are out there.
Hopefully, they didn't have to come from Italy, and involve the steep shipping costs mentioned above. Stay tuned....

Good question, Francesco, but I'm not sure yet. I don't actually have the tire in possession, so will have to let you know when I do. One week, maybe.

...bad news: still no tires. The supplier apparently didn't have the actual tires I need, but had glibly said "yes" to the Parts Guy at my local shop. I told Parts Guy about the source in Italy, but he's reluctant to order for three reasons. Shipping is expensive (see above), tires are old (not important to me, as I don't ride that hard) and last time he tried to order something internationally, the shop credit card number got stolen and before they could shut it down, the crooks racked up thousands in charges.
I can't believe one of our many parts suppliers here in U.S. doesn't have a set stashed in the back somewhere. Looks like I'll have to improvise...cruiser tire for the rear? Stay tuned...
