Everybody loves a good deal when they have gotten something cheap on ebay. And lets face it, all of us have. Nobody likes paying too much either, but all us of have. Supply and demand and perceived value are what drives a bidder to bid a certain price, not the seller!

There is a Dutch Company on ebay Europe that has been selling the Lens and internal light fitments from £13.00 to £44.00 depending on what the bidding reaches - they also deliver worldwide.

Before I buy ANYTHING, especially on eBay, I research the product and its cost. I couldn't tell you the number of times I've harassed my local dealer for the price of a new part so I had an idea how high to bid on an eBay part. I have NEVER paid more than new cost for an available item for a used part. I do the same thing with pawn shops. I have no problem seeing an item, and if I think it may be a good deal, but I am not sure, I go home and do internet searches to establish a value.
I remember a similar part as these lenses on eBay a couple of years ago. The remote reservoirs for the clutch and brake master cylinders were only $7 for one and $12 for the other from the dealer, but it was not uncommon to see used ones going for $20-$35 on eBay. It just baffles me to see that people aren't even willing to call thier local dealer to see what a part costs before they bid.
As I stated, though, I ordered two of each lens a couple of weeks ago, and as of yesterday, they are still listed in Ducati's system as being available, but, mine still have not come in. It may turn out being a case of the system saying they are available, but they really aren't, and if this is the case, I can understand the elevated price. Hopefully, they are still available and I'll get the ones I ordered in a week or two (I don't really *need* them, as the ones I have are functional).

I also bought four lenses for spares from my local dealer (Motomart, in Lower Hutt, New Zealand) within the last two months. They were out of stock in the shop, and had to get them in from Australia. In the past they have had to get them in from Italy, but they've always been available, and under $20 NZ.

That web seller gets stocks of unsold Ducati spare parts.
I have bought many spare parts from her (she's a lady) and I'm been (quite) always satisfied.
But, I don't know why the people buys on the web those lenses when they can be found at the nearest dealer. For few coins!!

It's official......the lenses are still available through Ducati. The four I ordered came in three days ago. I kinda feel sorry for the guy who spent over $200 on these parts when he could have bought them for $13 at his local dealership.
