Ok, here's a different thought: Take a 5wire to 4 wire turn signal converter box (buy at Auto Zone et al), feed in the brake and turn signal lights. Then, output them to the twin brake bulbs. Presto, no turn signals, one side of current brake light flashes to become the turn signal.

I thought of this 15 yrs ago when a friend was about to drill holes in the tailsection of a beautiful brand new 1991 ZX7R to put flush mount signals on his bike. I shoulda started selling kits, because those kits are all over the web now!

I haven't done this to a Paso so don't ask me the wiring, though. I did just do it to my former 996 racebike, came out great! Actually, took a ton of fiddling, Ducati wired the brake bulb contacts together with a rivet, had to drill, remount, solder, etc, but the end result was awesome!

Euro turn signal conversion

Has anyone tried to use those extra bright bulbs in either the tail/stop light or turn signals? I'm talking about the units typically advertised in the back of some magazines like Cycle World or Motorcyclist.

Seems like this could be a solution that we could all benefit from, whether or not we adopt the Euro configuration.

I didn't try them on a bike, but put a set of 50 watt backup lights in my old Isuzu Snoozer. Install in an 1157 socket, but much brighter. They worked great for a month, then burned out... They were a real help when hooking up a trailer at night, but I wasn't impressed with how long they lasted.

That seems to a rather expensive proposition, because as I recall they cost about $16.00. If that's typical, it doesn't sound like a good idea. Thanks.
