+1,check the compression - seems a lot to ask but if they're confident the bike is good they should allow it.
think that`s indeed a valid request, compression & leak down tests.
2V from that era often have bad rings/high oil consumption &
not so good valve guides.
Since the 907 is very labour intensive, fixing rings or valves is very
costly if you leave that to a shop.
