Found out some more interesting stuff about brakes the other day. I have been suffering with a shudder in the front end for some time now and after reading this blog, decided to do something about it. Checked the "alternative" rotors in the Tech Section and came up with a few possibilities here. My bike being a '91 model, 300mm disks would obviously be the go.......Went to the local wreckers and sure enough got a good straight set form a Yammie FZR600. Took the home, painted the centre hub a nice gold colour and removed my "origianl" disks, (I am sure you know where this is going) only to find that they were 320mm, not 300's. Either they had been changed previously or Australian models came with the 320's to start with. Anyway, with red face, took the 300's back to the wreckers and did some rummaging round in his yard. Found another Yammie with disks that looked pretty good, this was a YZF750, it had 320mm disks with what looked like a very similar, if not the same, offset. At no additional cost, fitted these and voila' a set of working 320mm front disks again, no shudder, no shake, perfect. Oh, just one thing, they are now a little spungy, I think due to the original pads having to bed into the disk. Hopefully this will change in the near future, new pads ordered. Have a 2,500km round trip to Adelaide planned for next month so things need to be sorted by then. All is good in the world of 907ie. :smoke: :smoke:

Earlier 907s fitted the 300mm rotors, later 320mm.

they are the same (YZF750 R/SP 93>)
