greeting all, i'n new, just purchased an "87 Paso 750. it can be described as follows:

1987 Paso 750, completely rebuilt motor, gear box shimmed, pistons coated, 900ss/sp cams, heads ported by BCM Motorsports, flow increased by 7cfm, Mallossi/Del'Orto 38mm racing carb kit, intakes matched up, DP light weight flywheel, primary gear lightened by Nichols, Clutch housing vented by Nichols, F1 vented clutch cover, ceramic coated exhaust, F1 exhaust cans, STM adjustable cam pullies, this motor rips!
Bodywork repainted "Dodge Viper" Red, unbelievable color, the loudest most beautiful red. seat re-covered by The Seat Guy,
Wheels are 2-piece Marvic composite magnesium/aluminum hoops from a 1987 Ducati 851 strada, including front and rear BREMBO FULL FLOATING CAST IRON ROTORS!!! Each wheel is 5lbs lighter than the stock units!! Losing 10lbs of rotating mass in the wheels makes this one incredibly nimble and quick bike! Michelin tires are brand new. Brake and clutch lines are all stainless steel braided. The brake master cylinder is a Brembo Goldline unit, the clutch master cyl. is a standard Brembo remote reservoir off of a 1993 888spo, The brake and clutch levers are cnc machined fully adjustable gold annodized levers. The swing arm, linkage and foot peg bits have all been polished. chain and sprockets are all new, The stock rear shock has been replaced with a new BiTubo unit. I have removed the rear fender assembly and tucked the license plate in. The tail section is the euro model with the turn signals built in. Lastly, this bike has the good Japanese electrics (Kokusan), not the crapola Marrelli-Magnetti dust-bin filler.

does this bike ring a bell for anyone. I'm interested in determining who made all these mods. I thank you for any help in this regard.

I wonder if anyone has considered fitting a BRIDGESTONE G722-J 170/70-16 REAR. I wonder if this tire would fit better than a 150/80 R16. It is a bias ply tubeless tire. There is also another choice in that size: DUNLOP D206 170/70R16 REAR (170/70-16). I found these at US Motorcycle Tires. Please advise. Thank you all! Best Wishes, Randy.

Although I`m in Germany I think I actually know the bike. If it was sold on ebay years ago.
I did keep some pictures. Let`s see if I still can find them. Don`t know anything about where the bike came from though. (Your description of the bike sounds a bit like mine :) )

edit: yes, it is that bike. I kept a screenshot of the ebay auction also. That ended aug 10 2005 but the bike wasn`t sold (for $4500) and then was relisted. The text is the one you posted.
Don`t you have any documentation of your bike so you can contact one of the last 3 owners ?
My bike came from California and I found all registration papers under the seat :)

ehm .... no. Always these embarassing questions  The main issue seems to be that I`m depending on others. I got notice from a machine shop yesterday that the last part from my order is finally finished. That took almost 2 months. Now all parts need to go to anodizing. Then I`m still waiting on 3 little parts that a friend wanted to make for me.
Otherwise the bike is ready to go. Over the winter there`re only small things like sanding and polishing the header as the guy I brought it to sandblasted it instead of glasbeadblasting it. grrr

What parts are you anodizing?
Why do you are polishing the heads? Aren't they black painted on stock bikes?
Ciao

the exhaust header
I`m using a 907ie swingarm so I had some adapters made and needed more for when I`ll use the Marvic rims as they have different measurements than the Oscam rims.

Thank you all for the assistance identifying the bike. The ebay info is exciting news. Lawrence (Ducati mech. from Munroe Motors SF USA) sold it to an unknown Tongan here in the SF Bay area, who move back to the island and sold the Paso to younger brother George , who sold to me, because he too is returning to Tonga for some time. I am the lucky fella who just happened to walk onto the scene of this crime. I am so so thrilled (dream come true). I've got 350 miles on her in the past three days, no issues, best riding bike I've ever eperienced, excet of coure at idle.

I just wanto to know if 170/70 R16 Dunlops or Bridgestones will fit the rear. It seems like I've got 20-25 mm space between tire and swingarm in front and I've got 15-20mm between tire and chain. Has anyone considered or used this size rear tire with success. Thank you all for your help in regards to the rear tire and the bike's history. And even more importantly thank you for your kindness and openness.

Best wishes, Randy. http://gallery.me.com/randycastellon

Front 120/70/16 (too smal?)

Randy, (and others of corse)

Michelin makes the front tyre 120/70 R 16 (sport SC radial, with fits on the MP3 an Gillera GP 800). Pirreli makes also an 120/70 R 16 Diablo for the front. (also for the GP 800) Both speed to 210 km/h

I mean, the GP 800 weight an 240 kg, a Paso 210... So the front tyre fit on the Paso. Its a scooter tyre, so?

I can order the Pirelli 150/70 - 16 Sports Demon whit no problems.. But this is an diagonal tyre instead of an radial tyre... I would use this tyre for the back... It goes to 180 km/h, for me this is not a problem...

Could this be a resonabel setup for the Paso?

They are homologated M+S, so until 180 km/h.
The same tyre is available both in 120/70 and 130/70 16''.
But that homologation can be a huge problem, above all for the insurance, at least here in Italy.
