So I decided to mod the stock unit. I am going to hog out the end caps,modify the internal reflectors a bit, hog out a few baffles, add an extension to the baffle after reducing its length appropriately( may be trial and and error as the hard drive I had the formula on died years ago and you just can't get that kinda info in these days of patent restrictions

So I finished the muffler. I left the reflectors and baffles intact except for removing the rear cone/choke and adding a straight pipe out the endcap which I hogged out to match. Had a chance to try it out this afternoon. Has a somewhat deeper tone and just enough louder to hear it while cruising along at mid range speeds. It also eliminated the tinny pulse so common with these stock mufflers. I will have some pictures of the mods I made and a backpressure study in the next few days( estimate a 60 to 70% reduction). The thing I like the best about this whole adventure is the fact I used no glass so it should be maintainance free and for those of you in European Union it should pass any MOT inspection( assuming they don't pull out the Db meter The only thing I didn't do that would prove advantageous is swap out the cold rolled steel for an aluminium pipe, so the sucker still is heavy as ever. Well maybe a half pound lighter,not much. So all II need now is a ZDM-A06 to mod up. If I can't find one I guess I'll have to finish the 906 so I can ride while I mod the 907, then again there is rain in the forecast so maybe I'll just hack up the one I have

So I welded the baffle to the endcap for future removal.........



I still have a little fitting to do and a little work with the backpressure and Db meter on the flow bench but I think it work out just the way I want to
