The different stages could be:
- cam dialling, K&N filter, lighter flywheel
- aftermarket exhaust (Dynojet kit for carbed engines)
- (Keihin FCR for carbed engines)
- cylinder head modification incl. porting and other valves eventually + big bore kit (crankshaft rebalancing)
- aftermarket or ST2 cams
- dual spark plug cylinder head modification
- modify cylinder heads to different valve angle (I read this is for injencted engines only)
Of course several stages will require individual tuning and probably a new chip.
A bigger airbox would also be good.
Beyond 90hp Kämna recommends aftermarket conrods i.e. Carrillo (Crower are cheaper).

Do the 944 & 984 kits fit a liquidcooled 907?

That`s an excellent question and a point I didn`t think about. One would have to ask a shop or tuner. (Maybe Ferracci or VeeTwo)
Thinking about it the only water cooled two valve Ducatis were the 906/907ie and ST2. As all other are air/oil cooled this would limit tuning to a specific big bore kit for the 906/907ie (if there is any), reboring the original cylinders, (if they bolt right on) the parts of a ST2 or just drop-in HC pistons.
Sorry for the confusion. (guess I should stick to the P750 forum)

A while ago I investigated getting a set of paso ( water cooled ) cylinders bored and plated to 96mm. The company doing the anticipated mods had done 96mm before and said it was "good " . the same guy also said you could go to 100mm ( using some kawasaki piston ) if you were really keen, but he would not recomend this and you were on your own as far as warranty was concerned .
I have ( sort of ) decided that any serious mods ( big bore , porting lightening and ballancing ) would be done to a air cooled SS motor I have ( yes ... with the crankcases machined for width ) and keep the paso donk reasonably original

Gerhard: Dual spark plug system DONT fot to 907 heads at all, as there are water and oil lines in that "2. spark plug area"... It fits only to air cooleed Ducati engines, like 900cc Supersport.

Antti, I`m wondering. The second spark plug would be positioned below the belt pulley so if there were oil and water lines wouldn`t you have the same problems removing the cam belt covers ?

(I personally wouldn`t do a dual plug conversion anyway unless I wanted to squeeze out the last bit from the engine as one can easily damage it if doing something wrong, ie forgetting to change ignition timing)

I was thinking about this "2. spark plug possibility" to my 907 ported heads about 6 years ago and all those "Ducati guys" here (who really know about Ducati engines) told that it is not possible to 907 or ST series heads. I thrust to them 100%, as they dont lie to me..... Then i looked closer those water and oil lines in heads and realized same thing... TOO COMPILICATED to do such mod. BUT if You have money "too much" then surely everything is possible in this world...

About belt covers: Many Ducati owners drive WITHOUT belt covers... Surely there is very big risk that one small stone go between belt and rollers and i have seen whatkind big mest such can make to engine (748R in this case: awfull to see engine and owners face after "shit happened")

Thanks guys for all your thoughts !
here is an update:
so far, I've bought an 96mm Piston/Cylinder-kit (Ducati Performance), wich is 102mm wide (instead of 100mm) to the crankcase. On Saturday, I will get a pair of Camshafts from an ST2. So I will let the Heads get ported and spend them bigger valves (45/39mm). When all is finished, I hope there are 90Nm to get away from those BMW 1200GS only by open the throttle :-)

What will you do about mapping?

the mapping has to be matched to the new components, of course...
