Thanks
Richard

I finished the wiring mod today. I used a spare fuse position in the fuse block to provide the fuse for the battery power wire. The spare position had unused fuse terminals in place ready to be wired. If you do not have the unused terminals, skip this and just use an external fuse, because as far as I can determine, the type of terminals used in the 907ie are not available separately

I unmounted the fuse block, cut the black harness sheath back about an inch to cut the brown wire that comes from the ignition switch, leaving a couple of inches of the wire attached to the fuse block.

I wired in a relay socket as shown here, consistent with the wiring diagram. Note one of the unused fuse wire terminals still in the fuseblock.

This shows the wires to pin 30 and to the battery now attached to the fuse block in the previously unused position. The ends of the power wire to the battery and ground wire are shown unattached.

All done. Ground wire mounted. Battery wire attached but not shown. The 40A relay is what I had.

100 mile ride today. No more electrical problems like I had before (periodic loss of ALL electrical power).
