Oof ... a worthy cause though. :)

Myself, I'm trying to hang onto the 40, but since it doesn't get a whole lotta lovin' from me lately (if it's nice enough to be in a convertible, I'm on two wheels instead) but I hate to part with it.

Especially because Toyota is threatening to release the "FJ Cruiser" in '06 or '07 - and it's sort of a throw-back to the golden FJ days. So I'm trying to time it just perfect so that I can drive the Exploder into the earth directly in front of the Toyota dealership ... and then walk (er, drive!) out with a new one. I would LOVE to have two Land Cruisers, 35 years apart in age though!

Hi Faster - well mate - don't know how that photo looks over your side of the world, but that blue thing there looks like its had a BIG bashing with 'the ugly stick'......
Maybe it'll look better in a differant colour, or in real life??? Or it could be a case of the photo getting scrambled in the upide-down inverter here............
Having said that, the retro look has been good for Chrysler......eg - PT Cruiser, Prowler etc

As well as my `92 907ie I have the following;-

`97 Triumph Daytona T595 (awesome noise with race can!!)

`89 Honda VFR750FK (has more character than later VFR`s and is just brilliant at everything)

`97 Saab 900S Convertible

`05 Toyota Prius Hybrid (I am not a tree hugger. This saves me a massive £1000 a year in company car tax due to low emissions, therefore more money to spend on bikes!)

A '78 Laverda 3CL 1000 Jarama, purchased in 1987 with a small inheritance (a more fitting tribute to my Grandmother I can't imagine); reconditioned by the recently deceased Lance Weil in 1996; it's built like a truck, but the 180 degree triple makes awsome music.

Then there's a '72 Penton KTM with a 125 Sachs motor, but just until this Thursday, as I'm selling it. I acquired it in the late '80s with the intention of restoring it for use as a desert toy. It seems that every time I ride off-road these days, I manage to hurt myself, so out it goes.

My commuter cage is a new Mini Cooper, although with the weekend traffic situation here in San Diego, I often ride the Paso to work on Fridays so I can split. Saves gas and time and is much more fun than getting in line to drive home.

I'd post images if I could figure out what all that html stuff means. Thanks to those of you who did manage to put up pictures. They're much more interesting than reading words.

I need to update my list. Since my first post, the Golf is gone. Now I've got an Audi A4 Avant 2.8L 5-speed and re-acquired my old grey-market 280TE back (yay!)

...so what, pray tell, is a 280TE, some kind of Benz?

Marinus, I have also some widsurfing boards, but i had to look FASTER ways to sail, so currently i sail on ice with DN class sailing boat in wintertime :D ...about 100kms/h, when good ice conditions! "little" faster, than with windsurfing.... :funny:

Sailing on Ice would be so cool. the exceleration must be mind boggling. We use land yachts here on the coast too and that is fast, but not as fast as ice. I'd love to give it a go some day.
It is fun to go fast on a windsurfer too but like bikes it can be so much fun to enjoy the ride in other ways as well. (See photo above) This was at takapuna beach, Auckland on a good day.
