That's OK gldman, most of it has to do with the value of the bikes I'm looking to buy. This question of value for "low miles" comes up with any collectable vehicle. In my case I'm after a bike I can ride, so low miles means that it may be in better condition. But I don't want to pay too high a premium for ultra low miles because it won't stay that way.

For me excelent service records will speak as loudly as milage. The hardest part is that I will probably buy sight unseen. And that is what scares me the most.

Hi there,

Finally managed to buy the 907 ie. It took a bit longer than expected, but now the bike will be delivered with new valve timing belts, the valves properly timed, fresh oils and new rear tire and battery. The machine run 23.000 km, not to much, but more than the originally stated 15.000 km. It is from 1993, red with silver, no stress fractures around the fasteners, but, BAD, a few small scratches (few inches) on the body plastic. The bike runs very smoothly, but may be I do not have a good reference with my Laverda 750 SF from 1972. The former and only owner was from a mature rider who has bought a BMW, would love to buy a BMW myself when approaching the 60 years.

The bike will be delivered next week, hopefully, so I am excited like a child.
