The engine became a bit unsteady about 2000 RPM.
My friend mechanic has only richened the mixture. No other modification.
No big problem, but it looks great and sounds better :lick: :lick: :lick: :lick: .

It has a very wide diameter and a sort of labirinth to make the gas flow correctly!
I thought labyrinth was to make it quieter, not for improved gassflow? What`s the theory behind that?
All open aftermarket mufflers I`ve seen for Ducs are like 40-50mm straight trough.
Interesting cause I & a friend are also building mufflers.

And sorry, Antti, I know nothing of the carbon Conti, think my 907 was imported w them.

"unsteady"?? What U mean? When driving in that rpm? Or just "over idle"?

How Your mechanic richened mixture? New chip?

Do You drive with some Conti pipes, Frankie? If so, what Contis You have?

I am wondering just same things! More "labyrinth" = more resistive and to these times less resistive have been good in 4 stroke bikes.... 2 strokes are totally another world.

Gert, is Your bike imported (from Italy) later, not 91, or 92? Whatkind of history? I think still, that Conti have NEVER make anykind of mufflers to Paso with carbon fibre.... Only chromed (older versions) AND aluminium with stainless steel (later versions)... Btw, does anybody know more history of Contis,"not only", that guys worked in Pescara, east coast of Italy.

I fitted the 2-1 Conti which my friend mechanic sold to me (150 €).
The engine is not "regular" as previously at lowest RPM, just over idle, 2000 RPM about.
The chip is the 023, but the mechanic richened the mixture by the trimmer of the ECU.
He tells me that little issue is due to a different "emptying" of the cylinders...
He can tell me everything...

Just, what i taught! Its just that "empting" with cylinders and that pulse back to sylinders from "connecting piece" is important with that Your mentioned "empting"....Thats why Ducati have that "collector" between headers and pipes to make better torque curve in lower rpm area.

Frankie, that small trim potentiometer in ECU adjust ONLY IDLE MIXTURE, nothing more! But it have to be set to about 4-5% (fuel/air ratio), that Ducati engine work fine in idle....

I think, JUST same, as those "Gerts old ones", to where someone have put CF tubes.... So, My 907 sounds one day similar, as Yours, Frankie...   BUT, if I feel, that performance goes down, then i change back to 2-2 Conti system(chromed) Nice, that here in Finland we can still use quite open exhaust systems, cause polices dont "have enough time" to check noise levels in streets....

Sorry again, Antti, I do not know much of my bikes history.
It was imported to Sweden 2003 w the carbon Contis. So maybe you have bought a unique Conti 2-1 w carbon from me!
At least it is light, 4kg in total!
Since it has 300mm front discs I think it`s a 1991 model registred in -92. Do I think right?

I am a newbie about Paso`s, I fell in love w my 907 4 months ago. I don`t know as much details about the different models years as you guys.

But I`m still interested about the muffler construction....

Gert,
I fell in love for the Paso in 1986, when I was 18 years old...
the first 907 ie have been built since the 1990.
The first one had 300 mm. front rotors and black mufflers.
Later, during the 1992, they put the 320 mm. front rotors and the mufflers were stainless-steel covered.
In 1993, on the 907 factory lines, they became to build the first Monster... and the 907 production stopped.
No matter, my 907 was also registered in May 1992 but has 300 mm. rotors and the old shape mufflers.
Nicola (ducapaso), as you can see, builds himself the mufflers...
So, he can get all the info about it.

improvement comes from 50 mm, the total lenght of the labyrinth let the gas flow correctly at almost any rmp

Bad link, Nicola...

Thx, Francesco, so maybe my papers are right, it is an early 1992 then.

91 "Modell", mostly built in 90 had 300mm rotors with black Brembos, P7 ECU and same saddle as in earlier Pasos.

92 "Modell", mostly built in 91 had 320mm rotors with golden colour Brembos, P8 ECU (most of 92 bikes had it, but not sure of all). Saddle was modified to lower riders position. Frankie mention already changes in pipes...

Its totally diffrent thing, WHEN bike is registred to street use, than yearmodell!!!!

Btw, Also diffrent M1R front fork, caused by different connections to calipers.

Gert, i think, that to those Contis have changed CF fibre tubes, i am 99% sure of it!   They are not originals....
