I'm sure you have an idea of what the final bike should look like (if not, the bike will suck. The cool looking bikes are planned, they dont just happen). I'd guess that when you compare the Paso frame to what you envision, it's no where near what you want. So, aside from the Paso frame being ugly, the geometry is likely all wrong too. This isn't to say you can't use a Paso as a donor, but chances are the frame is wrong, the forks are wrong, the wheels are wrong, the tank is wrong, etc...Max wrote:The Indiana is far from what I have in mind. I want to make a Ducati chooper that raise eyebrows. It must carry the name Ducati with respect. Los Angeles is filled with choppers crusing up and down and a Ducati Chopper would really stand out. I remeber when I first got my Paso in 1988 I went down the Sunset Blvd in Hollywood area and there was a croud of motorcyclists parked on the side and when they saw my Paso, the jaws wear dropped. Gosh, that felt so good.
Only you know for sure if the bike is a suitable starting point, I have no idea what your vision of a "cool" chopper is. But I can't imagine making a Paso framed chopper that doesn't look terrible.
FWIW - I'm not at all against a Ducati powered custom. Most of the bikes I've seen look like crap but a few are cool (moto creation's stuff looked good) And... truth be told I'm working on a little something myself.
Mine will look something like this when it's done. Only shinier. And the fender will be trimmed. And the seat will have springs. And...
