yes it was done before, but the only tire available is the Metzeler ME1 CompK and someone correct me if I`m wrong but I had heard this tire was also discontinued. (on the german Metzeler page there`s only a 140/80-17 as the only ME1 CompK model listed.

Hello,
I have just started get involved with forums and i have found this to be very interesting.
I'am the "sad" man which Finnpaso is talking about.
I have owned my bike four years (paso 906 -89). Front tyre is ok, but rear is ready to be changed.
Is the rear swingarm basically the same in 906 and in 750?
-> same changes needed in both when putting 180/60 on?
If so, then i propably buy Avon and try to fix it in place. I will put chain as near as possible to the tyre.
hope to hear more...

Hi,
Have you seen Torellos comment about putting Avon 180/60 on without any changes?
It is in 906 discussions. This gives more hope...

jussi 1973.

jussi 1973. Good, you found your site! 750 Paso and 9:06 in the rear fork is exactly identical, elikkä same problems are 750 and 906 for compatibility. 907 of the rear fork is a little longer and it makes it very suitable for 17 "modaukseen.
Bring sun "1973" Sunday will be the year of birth? Not incidentally, but I have had just the year in the Volvo 144 Grand Luxe and it has been my "best car" through the ages, although since then has been spending kaikelaisia games .. Next is his Volvo, elikkä circle indeed quit little by little ... canopy man regains child before his death ...
the Google translator is terrible

Franki,
Don't fall for it; I'd still blame the koskenkorva.
Cheers, Fraser.

Hi,
As announced before I did the conversion to the 180/60/60. As the Avon Cobra AV72 is a huge rubber (seems to be larger than Pompones Shrinko 180/60/60, because I also had to move the Sprocket to the left) I had to go hard to the limits. I'll post the drawings for the parts needed (2 parts for the sprocket 1 distance part for the crown) soon here. No big deal to do.
After a short drive I can say that Im very satisfied with the result. The avon Cobra AV72 seems to have good grip, and the handling in combination with the SPORTEC M3 FRONT (130/70/16) is good and neutral.
For me the tire problem is definitely solved, without 17" conversion which is costly and complicated

Images seems not to work. here the link to the pitchures
