while you`re at it I`d also open the starter and check the brushes.

Btw, seeing you pulling the rocker arm shafts. I guess you still have the old type. Newer Ducs (Supersport/Monster) have upper rocker arm shafts with a spring clip on (as far as I remember these are the same on 600/750/900), this makes changing shims much easier when adjusting valve clearance (just remove the clip and push rocker arm aside). I had mine swapped during the engine rebuild. No modification needed. I found mine on ebay for little money.

Thanks G,

I pulled the starter in order to powder coat it, Now I will take it apart and check the brushes.

I ordered the rocker arm shafts, for $30.00 that is a steal.
