Paso750 - No thanks I have decided not to buy another 907. I'm going to modify mine to suit me and USE it. It has been sitting in a museum long enough.

Thank you very much for your offer though. In the long run - even if I bargained the bike down to a reasonable level - there's still the cost of getting out there and getting back with the bike. I'm sure - if I really want one, one will turn up over here

My thanks again

Hey nnnnnnnnorman

What do you say to a few of us from the forum all getting together late Spring and doing a run somewhere - long week-end perhaps. If we were all to meet somewhere central, given that I'm coming from West Wales and others from all over, and go for a run as a pack of Pasos.

Hmmmmm I wonder what the correct collective noun is for Pasos? A Beauty of Pasos, a Thunder of Pasos, a Rumble of Pasos a Pain in the Neck of Pasos?

Suggestions anyone - I'll start another thread for suggestions

Norman - Paso a generic plural? Hmmmmmmmmmmm. So 'a Paso' and 'three Paso'? Not sure. I think I prefer 'three Pasos'.

BUT

Who will arbitrate this one?

(More to the point - does anyone care??????)

its a bit too clse to pathos for me. surely it would pasoes as in toes etc? the run in the summer is a good idea or we could invade another big gathering as a rumbling thunderous pack of paso! :)

Ah nnnnnnnorman the obscure irregularities of English . . . Pasoes? Must we create more?

What the hell. I vote that: As 'Pasos' just makes sense BUT 'Pasoes' seems more in keeping with the general chaos that is the Rule of English Grammar we use BOTH.

We should of course consult an Italian, or two if we want a real fight!

Ah Paso750 I'm prepared to bet that I could find at least one Italian to argue with you - I mean shouldn't the plural in Italian become 'Passi' ?

hehe, I guess someone else can explain the rules better.
Cars and motorcycles are the same singular and plural if you talk about brand or model.
If you talk about cars and motorcycles in general it`s different. "Macchina" becomes "macchine" and "motocicletta" becomes "motociclette".

my italian is fairly poor now, but I think you are right G, the PASO in plural stays the same
ie...una motocicletta paso
or...due motociclette paso
oggi ho visto passare quattro ducati paso...etc
see what Francesco or Nicola think
Cheers Claude.

I feel your pain. I fell in love with the 907 that a friend owned and knew it had issues. I finally bought off of him and I've had the Paso torn down more in the past 3 months than any other bike that I've owned. Found out that the chain broke on the original owner and broke the case. Then the spacer on the rear tire was put in wrong and chewed up the rear swing arm. I almost did the same thing last week. I'm still working on the bike not wanting to run over 6K rpm. I think its either in the relays or the wiring to the relays. Just the weather is now to crappy to test ride so I'm on a holding pattern.

I've never been to bed with an ugly woman

Your Italian it's not poor at all       .
It's so.
I guess everybody knows "Paso" was the nickname of the Italian racer Renzo Pasolini.
So, in Italian it has no sense to say "Pasos", even if I sometimes also write "Pasos" on the forum.
I think it's no matter of exactness, the point is that noun come out from the heart         .

Fast Eddie, you are not the lone ranger in those problems.

I have learned to live with a few drops of oil on the floor after a long ride, mine only leaks when hot and on the side stand. I leave little "Paso" calling cards wherever I go these daysl. I consider it an honor that these places can claim to have had a Paso (well a 907) visiting.
