Well, if those of us in the States have to wait till late in the year, at least my friends in Ireland should be able to send a couple to me.
Only down side is the price: at the current exchange rate €300 = $400(approx). Ouch! Don't know what shipping will be either.
Oh well, Yahoo!!
BTW - I sent and email thanking Goldentyre as well and asked for any info as to U.S./Canada availability.

Hi
I'm trying to get more info on the delivery here in The Netherlands. I have contacted TMV in Veghel who are the distributor for golden tyres in the Netherlands (more dirt bike orientated). I have asked them if they could deliver these tyres and askthem to ask golden tyre when these come available.
I hoping for an anwser soon. Will keep you updated.
Cheers Joep

Amazing! I've had my bike off the road for a few years, and it looks like I might be getting it back on the road at about the right time!

Thanks, Mike. Both the bike and I have been a bit crook, but we're getting better now.
The rediculous tax being levied on big bikes by the New Zealand government is a problem these days, but this amazing news about new tyres for the Paso is wonderful. Gowanloch Ducati may be able to get them for us.

Good to hear you're getting back in the saddle Skins.
I'm tossing up between waiting for these new tyres, or to go for the combo of a Metzeler ME880 (180/60/16) and Avon Azaro (170/70/16). Jay from Mildura is using this combination and seems to be very happy with it.
I'm trying to squirel some $$ away to spend on the bike this autumn (to sort the tyres, carbs and rear suspension), so I still have some time to decide.
I just bought a set of header pipes in very good nick of the old Ebay together with a set of carbon mufflers. They'll replace the very tatty looking pipes that are on the bike now.
Last weekend I took the Paso for a good ride after the long weeks of dreadful weather we've been experiencing on the east coast of Oz. Even allowing for the deteriorated performance of the old tyres it made me remember why I like the bike so much.

For those in Canada & the US: I emailed Mike at GoldenTyre Canada. Below is my letter and his response.
Hi Mike,
I'm guessing by now you've been contacted by a few Ducati Paso
owners (750's & 901's) regarding the new Z-rated GT Scooter tires: the
GT 070 130/60-ZR16 & GT 071 160/60-ZR16. With their release in Europe
this month (March 2012), can they be ordered through you for delivery to
the U.S.? The Paso owners groups I belong to are quite excited about the
OEM sized Z-rated tires. Michelin quit making their OEM fitment A59 &
M59 in 2006 and up to then they only had very short production runs.
Looking forward to hearing from you,
Chris
California, U.S.
Mike's response:
Hi Chris, I do not stock the tyres you mentioned but leave it with me and I will see if I can get them shipped direct from Italy! Can you give me details ie quantity and model # Full address telephone # and anything else you can think of.
Br Mike.
So, we can contact GoldenTyre Canada individually, or, through this forum, get a total of how many tires we will commit to buy so Mike at GT Canada can place an order. Then it's just a matter of shipping us.
Those of us that live fairly close to each other can consolidate the orders to reduce shipping costs.
Sound good? Feed-back requested.
