Fuel filter?

Post by krakan »

Hi all, when riding yesterday my bike started to run on one
cylinder when I accelerated hard but when I backed off a bit
it ran fine again, my first thought was maybe time to change the
fuelfilter? Can it be the filter that causes such a fault?

You wouldn't think so. If it was starving for fuel from a clogged filter both cylinders would run poorly.

I discussed about injection problems with one very good injection specialist here and he say, that 90% of injection problems are coming from dirty filters/shit in system, maybe in those "input filters"inside injectors. Its easy to check by measuning current amount of fuel pump, when filter is clean and then compare to clogged filter current. Worst case, fuse start to blow, if too clogged filter=too much current.... Its quite normally, if clogged filter, that not enough fuel to injectors and one of them "drop down". Have You ever checked Your injectors??? They must be checked after 50 000kms, or so, cause very small shit comes to injectors anyway after many years and they DONT "spray" anymore, like should. Filter CAN be reason to Yor problems, but problem CAN be also some other place.
