Valve specs on 750?

Post by izaakb »

Can't seem to find this listed anywhere..

what are the intake/exhaust valve specs on the 750?

is there a concensus on if this is sufficient?

i picked up a set of F1 spec valves and seats, and I just happen to have some heads laying around...

inlet
0.15mm

exhaust
0.20mm

this is from the owner`s manual. Interesting is that the Paso 750 workshop manual indicates 0.10mm (0.0039in) for both.

A german manual for 750SS/900SS states 0.08-0.10mm for inlet and 0.10-0.12 for exhaust valve.

Haynes for SS/Monster 600/750/900 says 0.10-0.12mm for inlet and 0.12-0.15mm for exhaust valve.

No intention to confuse, just wondering about all these differences.

I was referring to the valve diameter, not the rocker gaps.

Anyone?

oh, sorry.

diam. 41mm inlet (1.6141in.)

diam. 35mm exhaust (1.3779in.)

why don`t you just check the workshop manual ?

Honestly, I looked but it was taking hours to scan through the pages.

Thanks for the info, you answered my question -- they are the same as the F1's valves. I guess I have a spare set now, assuming the stems are the same length.

Izaakb the manual is available for anyone to download... or you can buy it on cd off ebay for cash. I recommend the download.

there's the service manual and the Eper diagrams (schematics) of all the components.

mine are 43mm/37mm but there`s nothing original anymore.

For an original or midly tuned engine the original valves are fine.

 of course not :D In fact keeping the original valves didn`t make sense anymore at a certain stage :screwy:
However, I`m just saying the original combination of valves, cams etc is fine. So changing them does only make sense if you also change/modify other (interacting) parts.

Porting means a LOT, when talking about valves! Also cams !!! I have noticed this in my 907IE very clearly.... ST2 cams, porting, open air inlet, open exhaust, etc...
