Hi folks:

I have an opportunity to purchase a nice 1992 Red 907ie at a decent price. Low mileage and nice shape. Lets assume good history, for the moment. I already have a very nice 1988 750 Paso.
So why do I want this bike? That is my question to you.
I LIKE my Paso.
I know how the 907ie is better on paper (17" wheels, water cooling, EFI, extra ccs and hp, better brakes and and and. But the real quesion is: Whats it like to own/ride compararatively speaking? Is it slower to turn in (weight)? Is it less fun? Or is it just better but the same? Is there any real difference- when would I take out the 750 and when the 907ie? Real life must be more than Blue vs. Red? I expect the 907 would be better at 120 mph cruising, but guess what? I don't do that.
I am hoping that the expertise of my fellow Ducatisti will help me with this one.

907ie (just trying it out)

It really depends on how much you like (or love) your 750. If you've had it for a long time and worked out all the bugs it supposedly had (only read about them never rode one so I can't judge). The 907ie is pretty much the best bike I ever owned. It now has almost 90,000 miles on it. Of course due to it's age it has slowly been redone to as new condition. But the motor has remained as tight as anything I've ever ridden. I keep telling myself when the motor goes, I'll just find another one (motor) and maybe do some performance stuff to it. But the damn thing keeps going. Real comfortable with a Corbin seat. Sounds like nothing else. Looks like nothing you see on the road. So if you feel this way about your 750 then don't buy the 907.

i hope it doesn't have to be "either/or" for u. it sounds like u love ur paso, so ur really gonna love the 907! it's just more and better of something u already love. better brakes, better performance, more reliable fuel mapping, longer engine lifespan due to water-cooling, and a slight improvement in the legendary styling made famous by the paso. the paso is a great bike, but the simple truth is the 907 is a better bike. i suspect once u get a 907, u'll stop riding the paso. 907s have a way of doing that. i haven't started my Kaw 1100 once since obtaining 2 907s. keep the 750 'cause it looks cool in ur garage next to the 907 and ride the 907. enjoy!

I have both 750 Paso and 907IE and have to say now something: 907IE is "better" bike in near all meanings, than 750 Paso, but 750 Paso was way, how Tamburini wanted Paso to look, like with low profile 16" wheels, etc... My feeling is, that 750 Paso looks better, but 907IE is best ever made Paso. So, its better have both! 906 have same"problems", as 750 have and more weight(!!!) with those awfull 2 piston Brembos in front, then 906 is worst Paso... 906 is not so light to handle in curvey roads, as 750 is.... That 16" wheel geometry is not so good, as 907 with 17" wheels...

I'll chime in just to say I've always thought every motorcyclist should have at least two motorcycles. If you happen to have two Pasos, well then you're twice as lucky!

One major plus point for the 907 is the availability of tyres!

If you are happy with the 750 and can afford time / space and money for two bikes I'd suggest something different, but that's just my opinion

Yes I agree --907 is better handling, better feel, with 17 in wheels. And more power.
Great bike. I would definitely choose the 907 over the 750 if you can not have both.
