907 injectors

Does anyone know which marelli injectors are used in the 907ie?

I'm currently tuning a 900ie Elefant, and need these injectors to get enough fuel in the engine.

A good source of used injectors will be appreciated very much as well.

i also ride an elefant with a paso 907 engine.
from my experience the injectors an the throtle bodies are identical.
the easy way to tell is the code on the little rised areon the injector body.
another easy way, they are colour coded,green,blue,red,....
the only different injectors i have seen are for the 4 valve.
wha is actually very imortand is to get a pair that have been matched to each other

Hi Kalli,

I know where the code is placed, thanks. However, as far as I know are the injectors different on Elefant 900ie and 907. The Elefant uses the (orange) IW-042 injector. These are not sufficient for tuning probably, remember the Elefant has quite a detuned engine with 750 camshafts.

Is it possible for you to check which injectors you have? When I have the Marelli no., I can find cross reference numbers on the internet.

actually the alefant has 750 heads not just the camshafts.
the biggest drawback of this heads is the valve size (750 again).
which elefant is yours ???
my 1990 lucky explorer 900 ie has green 031 as does the paso.
i have found the same green 031 in a 1999 900ss but they hve different blue tip.

Hi Kalli,

Pity you were not on the international Elefant Treffen in Holland last weekend! You missed quite a happening.

The 900 engines do not have 750 heads, they simply would not fit. The bigger bore of the engine would prevent that.

What is the case of the later carburetted elefants is that they use Monster heads with smaller valves and intake channels. However, the 900ie is equipped with the old 900SS (pre '92) heads with bigger valves and intake channels. This is why they produce quite some more power.

My 900ie is equipped with the std. orange IW-042 injectors.

Thanks for the info, I'll start looking for IW-031 injectors now.

900 Elephant have DIFFERENT injectors, than 907 have !!!! I have played with both....

Hi Finnpaso,

I know 907's have different injectors. That's why I started this thread in the first place. Since I'm starting to modify my Elefant with 900SS cams (now 750), I will need 907 injectors and eprom to get fuel delivery in line with the modification. This will get the engine some rallye spec power output, hehehe.

Starting with Kalli's info I've already got some more info, I've got the flows for both types and know the IW031 is also used in some Fiats, Lancias and Maseratis

That sounds very interesting. I'm not in a hurry with this project, currently we are rebuilding a 900ie engine for a friend, and we are also prepairing everything for our expected baby in september, so this will be a winter project for me

.
