I have heard that when putting the clutch cover back on it is advisable to pull the clutch lever until the piston is slightly past its housing. my question is how many mms sould it protrude before putting the cover back on? any help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks...........pikey

somewhere I read that's to make air let out the idraulic plant: It was 5 mm then open the nut and completely screw the cover, I don't remember where I read that... make a search in the site's engine for further instructions

air in the line actually turned out the problem, and that little trick works good when your working by yourself! thanks for the help!

This is a really interesting theory. Does the piston need to be protruding for all the air to come out?

not neccesarily. but it is helpful for getting the air out from the banjo fitting as it tends to stick there.
