STUPID IGNITION PICKUPS!

well heres the story: started the paso up the other morning, and had a lot of trouble getting her started. once I got her running, the motor sounded kind of rough, but I was still half asleep and just figured it needed to warm up. As soon as I started rolling I knew something was indeed very wrong. There was NO power at all. I then realized why the motor sounded so strange: She was only running on one cylinder! so I finaly made it to the motorcycle shop I work at. first thing I did was put new plugs in, and checked for spark. sure enough the lower cylinders coil was not sparking. so I swapped plug wires and checked spark, and it appeared that the same coil was stil not firing. so then I swapped the lead wires to the coils and the suspected coil fired. Long story short, I eliminated the possibility that the coils or igniters could be bad, which left the ignition pickup for said cylinder. I test both and the lower cylinders pickup was no good. so its either the wire leading to the pickup or the pickup itself. any suggestions? any body know where I can find a set of pickups? all help is appreciated!!!

You can get the part numbers here....

Contact your local Ducati dealer and see if they are still available. If they are not, call ProItalia and see if they have any in stock.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the help! I still have to check the wire and the pickup itself. I hope its just the wire, but with my luck who knows. thanks again!
