Hello to everybody,
i'm new in this forum, I live in italy (near milan) and i have a 906 paso in good condition (this summer about 3500 km in the south of france without any problem

.
The only problem, is the regulator/rectifiers.. last year i've changed it but now it is broken.
I've found in this site the link to the electrex r/r. So, my question is: is it so better than the original?
My mechanic can find the original at cheaper price than the ducati listing.
So what do you suggest? :-)
If electrex has a guarantee and it is better, i think i will buy it.
Another question: do you now, if original stickers are avaible (on the ducati parts listing there is no Paso!)? do you know the price? i need to completly repaint it..
thanks in advance!
ps: here a picture on this summer trip..

Hi Mago,
welcome in the forum.
The Electrex are known to be the best regulators and, no matter, better than the stock ones.
But, if your regulators were broken twice, you have for sure some electric problem.
So, check that all the contacts are tight and clean and the voltage on the battery with a multimeter. The voltage don't have go above 15,4 V at 5/6000 rpm.
On this website you will find more advices better than the mine.
Concerning the stickers, I can tell you I have recently bought the whole set for my 907.
You have only to ask to the nearest dealer.
I think you will find them, even if they don't will be cheap...
Good luck, and if you want to talk me in Italian, you can send a PM to me.
Ciao

It's a real joy meet italians in this site!
We are known not to be good English speakers and it's a real pity!
So, welcome!

Mago,
a question. I've seen the mufflers in your photo. What kind and brand are?
I'm searching for the mufflers because the mine were rusty

Hello everybody!
Hope my english is not so bad..
well, for rectifiers i wrote an email to electrex:
there's a local dealer in italy:
danilo.filippi@tele2.it [moderator edited at vendor request]
Now i wait for a reply to know how much will it cost.. :-)
For mufflers:
They are handmade by some guys in mandello del lario, they are a little expensive (don't remind exactly..sorry). My mechanic knows who they are (i will ask him the name).. i think they work in moto guzzi business

. They sound great not too noisy at low rpms, but really good at high).
I think i saw the originals one on ebay (maybe in the US).
Some news will follow
Thank you all!

Mago,
electrex has a very good fault finding chart that may help you:
http://www.electrosport.com/Images/fault_finding.pdf
Even if you are sure that your regulator fails, it may help you in finding other kinds of problems.
I have a 750 and don't know if the 906 electrical scheme is the same, but the final solution for me was installing a relay:

Bye!

Thanks for all the links!
For fault finding...
well, i will buy a tester.. and i will learn how to use it !
For regulator rectifier:
Thanks for ebay link...
the price is quite the same than the ones form the italian dealer (95 + vat + shpping cost (15 euro: you pay all when the postman arrives).
My mech found it at quite the same price..now, when it's stop raining i will try.., for now i cleaned some contacts
Thank you everybody!

The wizard of the electrics is Antti - Finnpaso.
He can teach you all the secrets of the multimeter (tester is an Italian slang)

.
Have you found the stickers?
As I told you, I bought the entire set of the 907's stickers from the local dealer (Ducati Roma, Via Appia Nuova).
Ciao
