So... I haven't really seen any really high miles on these Duc engs. Do we know of anybody with some serious mileage on their bikes? That's not including a rebuild or any freshening up....

I remember a friend had 57 K on his 851. And that was with some serious abuse. He even entered a race with lil jumps,CRAZY!!!

Don't know about the Paso engine but I have a buddy that has over 60K on his Monster engine with no major repairs.

In the newest "Desmo Leanings" magazine (club magazine for US Desmo - http://www.usdesmo.com ), there is a story on a '99 SS900 with over 124,000 miles that has only had preventative maintenance done to it located in Florida. I have several friends with 50k+ miles on their bikes and have heard of several 100k+ mileage ST bikes, like the one that Gary Eagan rode before switching to the Multistrada.

I drove with my previous 907 engine 73 000kms, before it started to leak fluids between sylinder and head (front). Here in Finland are some over 100 000kms drived 906:s

The idea that the Ducati engines are less enduring than others (BMW) is wrong for me.
The fact is that the Ducati are ridden fast, since they are sport bikes.
A BMW is often ridden more quietly than a Duck.
So, I'm not worrying for the duration of my engine.
No matter, I bought the cylinders - pistons kit :funny: :funny: :funny: :funny: :funny:

My 907 has now 130.000 km (81000miles), had overhaul the cylinderheads & new piston-rings at 95000km. Except for this it has been relativly problem free. but has of course had the normal electrical problems.

I'm around 15k if I had to guess on my Paso, but it didn't see any mileage this year. I'm up over 40k on my Monster ...

I remember an article a couple years ago in one of the monthlies about an early-70s 750SS with +125k miles on it that was somebody's daily driver ...
