I have a US model 91 907, I have silver body panel screws but I think the black looks much better and wanted to know if anyone knows where or how to get some. I don't know if its just certain models that had silver and others were black but I am curious so maybe it will be easier to locate a black set. Anyone that has any info on this please let me know.
Thanks.....Todd

It would cost about $ 1 each and $ 1.80 the rubber wellnut.

The black coating on these seems to be a paint rather than a plating, they do rust over time, especially where the allen wrench goes. I am thinking of having these black chrome plated this winter, has anyone researched this?

Black chrome-plating Ducati well-nut bolts will be relatively expensive. If you're going to spend that kind of money, you might want to consider replacing the stock Ducati well-nuts with Dzus fasteners. I have them on one of my 907s and they're way cooler than the stock well-nuts.
Another solution is to sand all the paint off the heads w/ an electric sander. Although time consuming, this is an inexpensive solution and the end result is very elegant.

No matter, if you sand the bolts, you have paint it after.
If you don't do it, the bolts will go rusty soon.
Perhaps, the Dzus bolts would be the best thing, but I think not so good for the look of the bike.
I would paint black the original bolts. Cheap and effective

I bought some genuine Ducati screws listed on eBay as for a Monster and they are the same as the Paso screws - just black-green passivated, rather than gloss black paint. With a coat of paint, they will look like the original! I am not sure I have a part number for them, but I will have a look?

There are two kinds of bolt.
The numbers are 037099013 and 037099018.
But, I repeat, I would paint the steel ones...

awesome guys , thanks for the info. I really want black ones and I would be willing to pay the higher bucks to get a good product...where have any of you guys found a place that sells the original bolts or the black chrome ones? I cannot find anything close on google. Also, does anyone know the bolts screw sizes? If I knew that I could prob just order some from a custom supplier.
I will check out dzus fastners

Not sure of the lengths but I know they are 6mmx1.0pitch and 8mmx1.0pitch. I think the lengths are either 16mm or 20mm.

WHy not use the "allen head Dzus" fasteners ?
they look pretty much the same as the original Ducati ones and are not hard to fit if you have a steady hand with the drill !
