906 Starter motor

Post by ducatipete »

Need new brushes for my 906 starter motor, its a denso model, is the starter the same as fitted on 907, ie can I fit the kawasaki zx7 brushes as listed on 907 forum??? plus the small carbon bush that supports the armature is worn and needs replacing, is this available too???

Brushes for ducatis pantah and later models are available in any ducati dealer, in kit with the entire iron support, but I can't understand what you mean with "carbon bush" (I'm italian... :toofar: ) If you make a search in the posts, you'll find also the suggestions for a good "do it yourself"
Have a nice work,
Nicola

Thanks ducapaso, our ducati dealers do not sell these spares just new starters at £250...only hope is finding out which kawasakis use the same starter, and buying brushes from a kawasaki dealer, maybe a zx 10r!!!

Couldn' t find any replacement brushes, so bought a low mileage starter off ebay, still not cheap, but will get me back on the road. It comes from a later 748, same part number as my 906!!
